At the heart of every signature city is a vibrant downtown, where one-of-a-kind spaces, diverse programming, and enticing events encourage residents and visitors to linger a little longer. Heart of the City: Phase 1 extends and enhances public spaces to create active and engaging experiences for residents and visitors throughout downtown Rochester.
Working in collaboration with the City of Rochester and the Destination Medical Center Economic Development Agency, RSP Architects and Coen + Partners, together with their design partners, were hired to define a new vision for the heart of downtown Rochester, starting with Peace Plaza, including 1st Avenue and the Alley.
